Binance Spot Trading Fee Structure
Binance uses a maker-taker fee model for spot trading with volume-based discounts.
Base Fee Rate
The standard spot trading fee is 0.10% for both maker and taker orders. This is already among the lowest in the industry.
Available Discounts
| Discount | Savings | How to Get |
|---|---|---|
| Referral code | 20% off | Use code RATE20 at signup |
| BNB fee payment | 25% off | Hold BNB + enable in settings |
| VIP tiers | Up to 50% off | Trade more volume |
| Zero-fee pairs | 100% off | Selected BTC pairs |
Fee Calculation Example
Buying $5,000 worth of Bitcoin:
| Scenario | Fee Rate | Fee Paid |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 0.10% | $5.00 |
| With referral | 0.08% | $4.00 |
| Referral + BNB | ~0.06% | $3.00 |
Multiply by the number of trades per month to see real savings.
Zero-Fee Trading Pairs
Binance periodically offers zero-fee trading on selected pairs (usually major BTC pairs). Check the fee schedule page for current zero-fee pairs.
Spot vs Futures Fees
Spot fees (0.10%) are higher than futures fees (0.02-0.05%) in absolute terms. However, futures fees are calculated on the leveraged position size, so actual dollar fees can be much higher.
Example: A $1,000 spot trade costs $1 in fees. A $1,000 futures trade at 10x leverage has an effective position of $10,000, costing $5 in taker fees.
Referral safety check
Know what a referral link actually provides
Be cautious with referral codes or links that do not clearly identify their provider and benefit. SmallDrift’s official RATE20 link provides a 20% trading-fee discount, and Binance’s signup page transparently displays SmallDrift, RATE20, the discount, and the referral benefit before account creation.
